Today
Today MH completed a lot of the stop-motion slides and I converted all of them to JPEGs and put them on iMovie to make the actual animation....it takes forever.

Today I learned about public service announcements (PSA) and that we are going to make one about how radiation can cause zombies. I also figured out a way to make this PSA through a stop motion video.

Reflection
What new skills and knowledge have you acquired so far this semester?
This semester I have learned how to do a lot of things in Rome, and how to animate things in Keynote such as texts and photos. I have also learned the format of a wiki article and written one myself in that format.
How could they benefit you in other classes and in the future?
All of these things can help me later in other classes because now I know how to make a more advanced presentation and when I need to I can make a high quality one.
How has you your level of effort reflected in your achievement?
I'd say my effort level has reflected very highly, because I liked doing all of these things and when I put a lot of effort into them I get very good results.

Today
Today I wrote a rough draft for my Prezi Wiki article. It was about 3/4 of a page which is good, and it is very descriptive. I also FINALLY finished my Mini Project for animated text, and it looks amazing! (opinion)

Today/Mini Project Progress
Today I looked at the animated text video tutorials, then went to Project Gutenberg and found myself a pirate book. I got some text and started animating it. It takes a while to animate only a little bit of text so this should take a little longer then I thought. I also helped Karla out with how to do it, and wrote this post!

Today
Today I labeled a picture with input/output depending on which item it showed. I also uploaded Cooliris to my blog, it's pretty cool. I talked about Egypt and their government and posted this post.
Egypt
I read a article on how Egypt's leader Mubarak has resigned from the position of "ruler". He has left the position but has not officially left the Democratic Party. Badraoui is the new leader that has been selected for the position but is not yet ruler. The people did not like Mubarak as leader so they protested (violently) for their cause because Mubarak has been leader fro 30 years and it's supposed to be a democracy but it has turned into a dictatorship.
Cooliris
I think Cooliris is another flashy thing, but it's not like all of the other things. It is just a way to view photos but it's good for mobile and blogs. It's pretty simple and I don't think it's all that great.

Classmate Presentation/Today
I presented my presentation to a classmate today and it went fairly well. It wasn't too long and it wasn't boring. One thing however, is that he said that he could read it and doesn't need me to. So now I know not to read that.

Today
Today I worked with a partner and read about an instance in which a man was fired for complaining about PowerPoint. We expressed our opinions, then got to work on our Keynote presentations, which I did.
"Fired colonel calls PowerPoint a crutch"
I agree with Col. Lawrence Sellin that PowerPoints are a crutch. He states near the end of the passage that "...you would think that with a lot of detailed slides that you're making progress, when you are actually not." This is very true because it doesn't really require you to think. All that is happening is a bunch of words and pictures flying past your head, and you not comprehending any of it. It would be better if someone actually spoke to you, which would require you to listen carefully. I think it was very wrong that he was fired, just for his opinion on things.

Today
Today I answered the question on sw's blog and messed around with "Magic Move" on Keynote which allows a cool transition for pictures and text besides the normal transitions.
Death by PowerPoint
I looked up a couple of problems with PowerPoint and how we can avoid "Death by PowerPoint". One problem is that people put too many pictures in their presentation, which can cause the audience to focus more on those than the actual topic. Another problem that ruins your presentation is if you move your cursor across the screen which can cause people to focus on that and not your presentation. Also, if you are presenting and you get to the end of your whole presentation and you go into the PowerPoint program and not in "View Slideshow", then your audience will lose their faith in you as a presenter and get bored.
SOLUTIONS!
1. Don't use to many visuals!
2. Don't move your mouse or use Ctrl-H to hide the pointer!
3. Don't show that you are using the PowerPoint program so you can keep the audience's faith in you!!!!

"Power points make people stupid"
I think that I am on the fence with this topic. I agree that yes, certain power points can be severely boring and make us not focus, which makes us not learn. However, we can learn from power points and the information given on them. So if I had to pick a side I guess I would disagree with this statement because we gain information from power points. Think about it... can't you remember AT LEAST one fact from a power point? That means you learned something.

Today
Today I worked a lot with Prezi. I really like this program and it can make really clean looking power points.
Web 2.0
A web 2.0 tool is a Internet site where people can put information of specific topics (Blogger is for blogs, YouTube is for videos, etc.). These sites are open to the public use, for anyone can access these sites and use the information on them.
www.prezi.com, or "Prezi" is the site that I chose because Prezi is a good way to make a clean looking power point on anything you like, and it's easy to use. Prezi also looks better than PowerPoint (my opinion) and has a easy to use interface. It may not be as advanced as PowerPoint but is good if you don't have it.
I have also used YouTube and Blogger before, which were easy to use and pretty straightforward. YouTube can give you almost any video you want. It may not have some of the best quality videos, but it is still very helpful. I use Blogger every other day and it is VERY useful. It allows anyone who has Internet to post and blog about anything they want. I have to write down my daily activities on this blog and it's very easy to use.
