Adobe Illustrator

I LOVE Illustrator because I've used it all my life.  There's so many cool things you can do!

Pixel vs. Vector

Pixel: (aka bitmap or raster) has to do with resolution, the number of pixels determines the resolution, all variations of colour can be represented as a single tone of data, the human eye sees the image with unbroken color transition.

Vector:  defined by mathematical equations, scalable to any size therefore good for printing, constructed from lines, shapes, and curves, can be changed into a pixel file.

Food Me (You Are What You Eat)

Here is a picture of me that I've photoshopped.  In the picture I used tomatoes, chicken, salad, waffles, peanut butter and jelly, banana, and a cinnamon roll.  I enjoyed this project because I got to use Photoshop and edit how the food looks.

Daily Post

Today I had to write an essay over China's bloggers.  Once I finished this I worked on Typography and understand how to make it!  I am working on Typography.

Inside the War Against China's Blogs

I think that this is a really wrong way to get money.  It is just a selfish act to get people to like your product, even if it is terrible, but this is all one-sided.  You may say to yourself "Well it's just a companies opinion" well it is not truly their opinion, it is a paid opinion so people will like their product.  And no, I don't think this is okay because it is not the true opinion of all of the people.  Sure it can be the opinion of some people but it's not the opinion of everyone.  To me this just seems like a greedy way for companies to make money.  They falsely promote their product so consumers will buy it.  This can highly affect the honesty of the blogging world because it is not the blogging world's truths.  These people show that it's okay to lie, thus making all of the information on the blogging world less credible and more questionable.
Say you needed information for a project at school, so you go to "Yahoo Answers" for facts.  All of this may not be the best information because people might have been paid to put that information out there, making your project false.  It also affects the entire internet because if it affects the blogging world, people will get information from blogs and make pages based on this information.  Making you wonder if all of this information is just "paid opinions".  Companies should stop scamming people into thinking their products, and let people decide for themselves.

Second Six Weeks

How productive have you been?
I think I've been pretty productive throughout this six weeks.
How would someone accurately describe your work habits?
I stay on task most of the time but might get a little distracted.
How have these work habits aided or hindered you?
Since I stay on task I get things done, but since I get distracted I don't get it done as quick as I can.
As a result, what have you gained or learned from the past six weeks?
This six weeks I have learned to keep to my work and get work done on time so I don't have to make it up the work next class.

Spectrometry Lab

1. How do you think the Spectrometer works?
I think the spectrometer shows amount of color in light that is reflected back into the spectrometer compared to no color at all.
2. Were there any unexpected results? What were they?
Yes, as the wavelength went up, the sample reading increased.
3. Were there any differences between the different printers?
Yes, there were minor differences in the printers, some printers were more exact with their readings but others were straighter and not as exact.
4. Compare the printed color sheet to the one linked in the blog. What differences due you notice in the RGB display versus the CMYK printout.
The one on the computer had brighter colors, where the one on the print out was dulled.
5. Did you notice the Hex Codes for each color. Would you say Hex codes have more in common with RGB or CMYK? Explain.
It is more similar to RGB because the FF correspond to where the numbers are inputted into the RGB codes unlike the CMYK code.
6. Do you think the use of spectrometry is important for publishers? Why or why not?
Yes because publishers want the colors to be as exact as possible.
7. What sort of consequences may arise if spectrometers were not used in publishing?
The colors will come out ugly looking and not the desired color.
